MAMUNA SALIRA? THE MASCULINE NARRATIVE

Mwamuna Salira? – The Masculine Narrative explores issues that affect young men ranging from sexual health, gender identities, gender-based violence, and inequalities to empower young men to explore gender-equitable identities. Using a short Digital Musical Theatre Series to address the issue of youth masculinity and its impact on African narratives and reflecting Mental Health Awareness. In Malawi society, traditional gender roles and perceptions of masculinity restrict young individuals, especially boys, from expressing themselves authentically. By leveraging digital performing arts, this project seeks to empower youth to challenge these stereotypes and promote awareness and understanding of diverse Malawian narratives. Currently, the project is being run as an interactive audio musical theatre in a pilot phase of 5 episodes. You can stream it live on Spotify, Google podcast, Pocket FM, YouTube Music and other audio streaming platforms
